Our recent Ringwood renovation project focused on transforming a dated, closed-off home into an elegant, open-plan living space. The homeowners were a family that enjoyed entertaining and requested a space that was bright, inviting, and seamlessly blended indoor and outdoor areas.
The centrepiece of this transformation was removing a major internal wall, which once divided the kitchen and living areas. We carefully installed two structural steel beams to open up the space, bring in more light, and redistribute the living space.
The removal of this load-bearing wall required detailed engineering and careful sequencing from our team. We coordinated closely with structural engineers so that the home remained fully supported during the building stage.
Bringing Function and Flow Together
Beyond the open-plan transformation, the project also included the addition of a new laundry. We thoughtfully designed and built the area just off the side of the kitchen for convenience and continuity. This improved both functionality and flow of the entire home, allowing the homeowners to use the space efficiently.
Integrating the new open space, laundry, and existing structure required meticulous attention to detail. From framing, finishes, ceiling lines, and flooring transitions, we made sure that each element in the home was carefully considered.
To give the homeowners a final touch of entertainment luxury, we installed a new deck at the rear, fully incorporating an indoor-outdoor living space. With greenery, lounges, and high chairs, the outdoor seating is perfect for entertaining and relaxing in an intimate setting.
With the kitchen, living, and outdoor areas now interconnected, materials and finishes had to combine harmoniously to achieve a balanced and cohesive aesthetic. We worked together with the homeowners to bring their Ringwood home renovation vision to life, while keeping their budget in mind.
